Authorship and Conflicts of Interest
The Journal of Algebra Combinatorics Discrete Structures and Applications requires clear authorship, contributorship, and conflict of interest disclosures for all submitted manuscripts. These requirements are intended to ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in the publication process.
Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the conception, design, development, analysis, interpretation, writing, or critical revision of the manuscript. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for the content of the work.
Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section, provided that they have given permission to be named.
Author Responsibilities
All authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is original, accurate, properly cited, ethically prepared, and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors must cooperate with the editorial office during submission, peer review, revision, and publication.
Each author must provide a complete institutional affiliation and a valid e-mail address. Authors are also required to provide an ORCID iD where applicable or requested by the journal.
Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal throughout the submission, peer-review, revision, and publication process. The corresponding author must ensure that:
- all authors have approved the submitted manuscript;
- all authors have agreed to the order of authorship;
- all authors have approved any revised version submitted to the journal;
- all required declarations are included in the manuscript;
- all author information, affiliations, and contact details are accurate;
- all co-authors are informed of editorial decisions and publication requirements.
Author Contributions
Authors must include an author contribution statement where applicable. The statement should clearly describe the contribution of each author to the manuscript. If all authors contributed equally or jointly, the following statement may be used:
All authors contributed to the manuscript and approved the final version.
Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be submitted in writing to the editorial office. The request must include a clear explanation for the proposed change and confirmation from all authors, including any author being added or removed.
The journal may request additional documentation before approving an authorship change. Authorship changes after acceptance are permitted only in exceptional circumstances and must be fully justified.
Disputes About Authorship
The journal does not adjudicate personal or institutional authorship disputes. If an authorship dispute arises, the editorial process may be suspended until the authors or their institutions resolve the matter. The journal may contact the relevant institution or research body where appropriate.
Acknowledgements
Individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship may be acknowledged. This may include assistance with language editing, technical support, funding, administrative assistance, or scholarly discussion. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from any person named in the acknowledgements.
Conflicts of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when financial, academic, institutional, personal, or other relationships could influence, or be perceived to influence, the preparation, review, editorial decision, or publication of a manuscript. Conflicts of interest do not necessarily prevent publication, but they must be disclosed transparently.
Author Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest related to the manuscript. Examples may include financial support, employment, consultancy, honoraria, stock ownership, grants, patents, institutional relationships, personal relationships, academic competition, or any other situation that may affect interpretation of the work.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors should include the following statement:
The author(s) declare that they have no conflict of interest.
Reviewer Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must decline an invitation when any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest could affect—or reasonably appear to affect—their independence, objectivity, or impartiality.
Conflicts may arise from recent collaboration with the authors, current or recent shared institutional affiliation, supervisory or mentoring relationships, close personal or professional relationships, direct academic competition, financial interests, involvement in related work, or any other circumstance that could compromise—or appear to compromise—an impartial assessment.
If a reviewer is uncertain whether a relevant conflict exists, they should disclose the circumstances to the editorial office before accepting the invitation. The editor will determine whether the review may proceed.
Editor Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not handle manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest. If an editor has a conflict, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor or editorial board member. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit, reviewer reports, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
Disclosure and Editorial Action
The journal may request further information about authorship, contributions, funding, or conflicts of interest at any stage of the editorial process. Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in rejection, correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other editorial action, depending on the nature and seriousness of the case.
